Yoga Asana + Kriya

Service Description

This class will explore traditional tools and techniques of the ancient practice of yoga. We will learn about asana (postures) and move through sequences and series that shift our relationships with our breath, body and mind. Yoga is a lot more than a workout -- a person could study it for their entire lives and still have something to learn from another who studies it. Ultimately, you cannot do yoga wrong. You just can't. If you have a body, if you are breathing, if you are showing up -- you are doing yoga. There is no such thing as being "good" at it. There is no such thing as being "bad" at it. This class will be trauma-informed by nature, meaning that we will have lots of options and choices to adjust and modify the postures and techniques to suit our own bodies. The practice is deeply personal. I'll be leading it -- but it's you who gets to make the calls about how your practice goes. Each class will be a bit different -- we'll revisit techniques and you'll learn them with time, but ultimately, it will flow based on themes that will be introduced at the conclusion of the previous theme. Things like...the ethics of yoga, or things like the chakra system. We'll combine Hatha, Yin and Kriya into these classes. If you don't know what those words mean -- don't worry! We all start where we start, and that's the best thing about beginning! I hope to see you on the mat. The path of yoga has taken me around the world and into my own Self. I love to share it and I love to learn through seeing how others see the practice. So I hope to share together and hopefully bring a bit more ease to the head, heart and soul. Sat Nam!
